about

"Estátua de Palha" is Lalo Oliveira's fourth work song and features the
participation of Kiko Ciociola, drummer of Aneurose, on drums. Music is also the first that Lalo writes the lyrics and sings.

The song premiered, on all digital platforms, on March 5, 2022 and was
recorded, mixed and mastered by Lalo in his Home Studio.

The theme of the song's lyrics surrounds the world of Carlos Castaneda's shamanism and his Master, the Indian shaman Don Juan.
Castaneda spent decades of his life in contact with Don Juan who, through entheogenic plants, taught the so-called “way of the warrior” to the anthropologist.

According to Carlos Castaneda and Don Juan, the process that leads to the path of the warrior that, finally, culminates in the “man of knowledge”, passes through the erasure of the personal history and everything that matters and is dear to the individual.

Personal history is a personal-social construction in which, through our
experiences, a self-importance is built within us, as if we had
some importance for the functioning of the cosmos. This self-importance
in various side effects, such as self-pity and arrogance, which pollute the
Warrior's Path.

Burning the Straw Statue is, ultimately, throwing yourself in the trash. all values, behaviors that were the fruit of personal history, self-pity and arrogance.

By burning the Straw Statue, we understood each other as unimportant and, thus, we began to understand that our importance is the same as that of any molecule of this universe.

This is a small step so that, according to Carlos Castaneda, the human being can reach the way of the warrior, impeccability and become a “man of knowledge”.

lyrics

Chegou a hora de esquecer
Quem eu fui não importa
Evoluir é se deixar morrer

Toda história que construí só fez
Levantar a estátua da auto importância
Auto piedade, culpa e vitimismo

Abandonar quem sou, me entender sem importância

Abandonar quem sou, me entender sem importância
Jogar fora a história que construí

Toda história que construí só fez
Levantar a estátua da auto importância
Auto piedade, culpa e vitimismo

Abandonar quem sou
Me entender sem importância
Jogar fora a história que me fez construir
A estátua de palha
